Formation
Companies may be incorporated for a variety of reasons and in different jurisdictions.
Jersey Companies are regulated under the Companies (Jersey) Law , and possess all the powers of a natural person.
Proposed names may be reserved in two or three days but for an additional fee a fast incorporation will make sure that a name is reserved quickly. Once a name has been approved a company can usually be formed within four or five days.
Names submitted must avoid giving a misleading impression of the company’s size or activities, any allusion to Royalty, Government or Countries, or include any words suggestive of any activity which is regulated by other laws, such as, Bank, Institute, Trust or Doctor.
Certain information must be disclosed to the Registrar of Companies including the identity of beneficial owners and any persons having a controlling interest in the activities of the company together with details of the company’s proposed activities. This information will remain confidential, subject to due process of law.
A number of other jurisdictions may be used for company formation. These include Guernsey, Isle of Man, British Virgin Isles and others as appropriate.
